Pugs are loveable canine clowns. They love to entertain and play. They are willing to be held all day long. Pugs were origiionally bred to be lap dogs. They are loveable, snuggly bundles of love.Our pugs are very gentle and loving. Our males and females have wonderful dispositions. They live indoors with our family most of the time. Quite often, each child has a pug on with them while doing their homework.

 

Pugs are not suited for extreme temperatures. They are truly a house dog. They do not rquire a yard, but do require a daily exercise period. Intense heat and cold are hard for a brachycephalic (flattened) face dog. A pug can not participate in extreme sports such as running or hiking.Pugs are even tempered. They are great with kids, after the child is not a toddler. Toddlers must be watched with all dogs, as their loving actions can harm a dog.

 

 

A pug with a note tied to his collar was rumored to have passed between Josephine and Napoleon when he was imprisioned. Multum in parvo - is a latin phrase used to describe Pugs. This translates into a lot of dog in a little package. These are wonderful companions. The job of a Pug is a great...to be a friend and a companion. Who can ask for a better job?

Well, look out for a big wet doggy kiss! A bloodhound loves companionship. They want and need to be with their masters. Bloodhounds are large.. really large, in fact. An average bloodhound female will weigh around 90 to 100 pounds. An average dog will weigh over 100 pounds, even up to 125, although generally, they do not fill out until they are about two years old. These dogs may be large, but they are generally gentle by nature.

 

Bloodhounds are very smart animals. They learn quickly, but often decide it isn't rewarding or entertaining to want to perform the new trick. They also have a fantastic memory. But because of their size, obedience training is a must! The behavior that is just so cute in a puppy, is not always so cute in a 100 pound dog (such as having having him sit on your lap, or jump up on you)! So as you can understand, teaching them good manners is crucial.

 

Bloodhounds require a contained yard. They do not look both ways, as they are too in tune with smells to notice a danger to themselves.

 

It's true what they say about a Bloodhounds nose: There's no other nose like it!

The characteristic long ears, nose, wrinkles and of course drool are what help the bloodhound to scent a trail so well. The saggy jowls (dewlaps) along with the drool help to catch a scent and hold it.Bloodhounds are lovers. They love people. Generally, they are reliable with kids. This love for people makes them poor candidates for SAR cadaver work. A bloodhound can become broken hearted at the find of a deceased person, but to find a living person makes their day!
